Acupuncture - Traditional Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture has been used as a healthcare system for thousands of years, initially from China, this has become a Worldwide health care system used by millions of people.

By inserting very fine needles into the body at specific points, we are able to achieve a whole body balancing method which intrinsically helps to maintain & correct a person's health and wellbeing.

Acupuncturists will take a holistic approach, which means to treat the whole body i.e. the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms, though these are also treated at the same time.

This can help treat a wide variety of conditions including:
Musculo-Skeletal Problems like Back Pain & Neck Pain, Shoulder Problems inc Frozen Shoulder, Elbows inc Tennis & Golfer's Elbow, Wrists inc Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, Hip Pain, Knee Pain, Ankle Pain etc.
Internal Problems like Depression, Anxiety, Low Immunity, Fatigue, Headaches, Allergies, Pain etc. More specifically, I have seen brilliant results with Fibromyalgia, M.E., Chrone's Disease, Insomnia, Infertility etc.

Auricular Acupuncture

Ear Acupuncture is a system of Acupuncture by itself developed by Dr. Paul Nogier after years of researching the mechanisms of the ear properties.

The ear holds a whole microsystem map of the body as researched by Canadian Neuroscientist Wilder Penfield, he found that this microsystem mapped the brain to the rest of the body.

Ear Acupuncture uses this microsystem to help with a variety of conditions. This includes detoxing the body after giving up smoking etc to weight loss, headaches to back problems. This is also an effective way of helping to reduce stress.

Electro-Acupuncture

Electro-Acupuncture is a relatively recent development within the world of Acupuncture and is not a form of torture as the name makes it sound. Similar to traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted into acupoints in the area of the problem, the needles are attached to a device that can increase/reduce intensity & frequency of the electrical impulses. This is done in pairs so that the impulse is sent from one needle to the next, thus able to cross problem areas with great effect. The device is similar to the TENS machines used in pregnancy, though different programs are used by acupuncturists.

Electro-Acupuncture can be used to help with most musculo-skeletal conditions & internal conditions too.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is using glass or plastic cups on the skin, pulling the air out the cup, which creates suction on the skin. In Chinese Medicine, this is used to dispel stagnation which can cause muscle cramping & muscle spasms. This in turn, improves blood flow & Qi flow

This in recent years, has become very popular among Athletes, helping muscle repair after vigorous and overuse

This can be used for musculo-skeletal problems, such as, bad backs, shoulder, arm & leg problems and would be used alongside Acupuncture to improve the result of the overall treatments.

Tuina Healthcare Massage

Tuina Health Massage is a vigorous full body massage which deeply invigorates muscles & joints to help relax the body. This is a full routine which is used for general health & wellbeing. It's also great for a routine maintanance to help keep the body fit & healthy in whatever you do.

Starting with the Neck & Shoulders, we work these while you relax in a chair. Ending up going down the arms to the finger tips.

Next with you laying face down on the couch, we'll work the upper back & lumbar regions making sure the muscles & shoulder blades are relaxed.

We'll then work down over the hips into the gluteal (bum) muscles & onwards into the large muscles of the hamstrings. Over the back of the knee and onto the calves and down the ankle onto the feet.

After turning you over, we then work back up the feet, lower legs, knees and large muscles of the quadriceps. The hips can get their turn at this point.

A stomach massage can be used at this point too. Very good for helping the digestion, as well as used for losing weight in China

We can then finish off with a neck & head massage which includes the face to leave you feeling very relaxed.

Tuina Medical Massage Therapy for Sport & Other Injuries

Tuina is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine which has been practised in China for more than 4,000 years.

Tuina is a vigourous massage which manipulates muscles & joints helping to both invigorate & relax the body. It specifically focuses on the same acu-points which acupuncture uses to help achieve & maintain a balance within the body for health & well-being.

Tuina Medical Massage can also be used to realign certain joints within the body. We do this by spending time warming up the muscles which are causing the problem and allowing them to relax by themselves - this is usually enough to realign the problem areas.

We can help with most types of conditions:

Sports Injuries Wear & Tear Overuse
Back Pain Lumbar Pain Sciatica
Headaches & Migraines Neck Ache & Pain Upper Shoulder Pain
Arm, Wrist & Hand Pain Tennis Elbow Golfer's Elbow
Hip Problems Quadricep Pain Hampstring Pain
Knee Problems Calf Pain Ankle Problems
Foot Pain General Health Wellbeing

Traditional Thai Massage

Traditional Thai Massage is a fully clothed massage performed on the floor and is much much slower than Tui Na Massage. We work on the muscles in a slow methodical way, pressing & stretching muscles and limbs to relax the whole body.

This is one of the best relaxing massages that does not use oil.

It is not a painful massage as the Therapist will listen to the Client and their body to ensure they do not cause any pain or discomfort

We will use our hands, thumbs, elbows, forearms and sometimes feet to reduce tension within the muscles & ligaments. This will in turn help improve blood flow throughout the whole body.

  • Reduces pain in the body
  • Relieves Joint Stiffness & Pain
  • Increases flexibility and range of motion
  • Eases Anxiety and Revives Energy
  •

Always check with your Doctor if you have specific conditions that may be impacted as Thai Massage has profound effects on the circulatory system.
